Recently, I won 1st place in the 10-12 age category for the San Jose Public Library Graphic Novel Contest!! I was very happy. š„Ā
I love dim sumš„, Ā and one of my favorite things to do there (other than eating!š) was to look at all the lobsters, crabs, shrimp, and fish that were in the tanks. They were always doing something funny, like trying to swim to the top of the tank (the shrimp always got tired andĀ sank back down), fighting each other (lobster boxing!), and staring blankly off into space (the fish looked kind of bored). Otto the octopus was actually from my previous comic entry in 2022, "Octopus Invader"š.
They became the inspiration for the animalsĀ in my comic entry! Since the 2024 Paris Olympics happened this summer, I decided to make it the theme for the comic. So, "The Seafood Olympics" was born!Ā
